ISPIM Conference in Bergen

It takes a whole culture to bring about sustainable innovation in a repeatable and reliable manner. This insight and 68 practices and methods from our upcoming book on Sustainable Innovation Cultures and the European projects IMPACT and Strategic Foresight 4 Sustainability were at the heart of our discussion at this year’s ISPIM conference in Bergen. Some highlights from our Special Interest Group on Values-Based and Sustainable Innovation:

  • In the Special Interest Groups (SIG) leader breakfast, we explored common interests for new funding projects either leaders of other SIGs, like those for Social Innovation, Body of Knowledge and (new) Blue Economy & Innovation.
  • A half-day masterclass introduced Sustainable Innovation Cultures, based on our open access book.
  • 16 scientific paper presentation in the SIG track covered topics such as sustainability transformation in the denim industry, quality of life in smart cities, luxury goods, impact assessment tools, or eco-innovation in family business.
  • In a new project formation workshop, we explored how to leverage AI and LLMs to foster social innovation and futures literacy education.
  • Hot topic discussion rounds with colleagues from industry and academia sharing their insights on challenges, practices and foresight methods to drive sustainable innovation.
  • Super cool baths in Norwegian fjords with dear colleagues left everyone fully refreshed.

Another memorable event with the ISPIM family and colleagues, excellent in their research, forward-looking in their practices, and full of insights to take into the new post-conference time of the year.
